The AUA is coordinating an excellent series of research events for the 2018 AUA Annual Meeting beginning on Friday, May 18.
The theme of this year's Urologic Oncology Research Symposium is "Tumor Microenvironment and Immunology: Frontiers in Cancer Therapy." This full-day symposium will be held on Friday, May 18.
The 2018 Basic Sciences Symposium will be offered in two parts. Session One: "Understanding Disorders and Differences in Sexual Development" will be offered on the afternoon of Sunday, May 20 from 1 – 5 p.m., and Session Two: "Understanding Male Infertility" will be offered in the morning of Monday, May 21, from 8 a.m. – Noon.
The Challenges for Urologic Research Series, which will focus on "Moving Biomarkers into Practice," will be offered on Sunday, May 20 from 8 a.m. – Noon.
Sessions on Saturday, May 19 will provide our early-career investigator community with robust learning and networking opportunities at the "Funding Opportunities and Grant Writing Guidance for Early Career Investigators" workshop and the Research Forum: "Early-Career Investigators Showcase."
The AUA2018 plenary program will also include three talks featuring AUA and Urology Care Foundation research programs:
- "Highlights of Urologic Oncology Research" presented by Aria Olumi, MD on Monday, May 21, from 7:30 – 7:45 a.m.
- "Highlights of Benign Urologic Research" on Monday, May 21, from 3:45 – 4 p.m.
- Rising Stars in Urology Research Spotlight presented by Lysanne Campeau, MDCM, PhD, FRCSC, on Saturday, May 19 from 1 – 1:15 p.m.
